About the Role
The SNIP Veterinary Receptionist is the first point of contact for our SNIP clinic clients and plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth, organized, and positive experience for the public. This position combines customer service, scheduling, and administrative support in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrives in a busy setting while maintaining professionalism and empathy with both people and animals.
Primary Responsibilities
•Greet clients and provide a welcoming, professional front desk experience
•Coordinate with shelter staff to support scheduling and care for GAIN animals
•Answer phone calls, emails, and messages in a timely and courteous manner
•Schedule spay/neuter appointments and provide clear pre- and post-operative instructions
•Check in and discharge animals, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete
•Enter and maintain client and patient records in clinic software
•Communicate clinic policies, pricing, and services clearly to the public
•Coordinate closely with veterinary and clinic staff to ensure efficient daily flow
•Assist with client questions and problem-solving in a calm, solution-focused manner
•Process payments and maintain accurate financial records
•Support intake coordination for SNIP, community animals, and special programs
•Help maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk and lobby areas
•Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth clinic operations
•Support promotion of SNIP services, programs, and events through social media platforms
•Assist in creating and posting content (photos, videos, updates) to help educate the public and increase program participation
•Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Comfortable working around cats and dogs in a clinical setting
Willingness to assist with hands-on or occasionally messy tasks if needed
Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Basic computer skills and ability to learn clinic software systems
Ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable handling difficult or emotional conversations with empathy
Availability to work weekends or adjusted schedules as needed
Compensation:
Starting $10 (Can be Negotiated Based on Experience)
