FOSTER HOMES NEEDED:
The rescued Greyhounds will be sent to homes in the States. Due to flight requirements they must be held on Guam for 30 days following their Rabies vaccination. If you can provide a temporary home for a Greyhound, please call 789-2358 or 688-PETS.
Steps to take:
Visit the shelter and complete foster application; (no charge)
Before you foster:
These hounds have been cared for since birth - they need to be kept in an enclosed yard with lots of shade, water and food;
but they prefer to be a "couch potato" and stay in an air conditioned home.
They are escape artists and chew through tethers and ropes;
They are NOT guard dogs.
They need to be introduced to small dogs and cats very carefully -- they've been trained to chase small objects
They love to go for walks / some are house trained - but you need to watch them for a few days to be sure
If you fall in love with your foster Greyhound, you can adopt it at any time!
