Volunteer
One person can make a difference...
Please volunteer your time at the shelter!
Volunteer Activities:
Feeding and caring for the animals
Playing with and petting the cats
Walking the friendly dogs
(They love to get out of their cages!)
Grooming the dogs
(Increases their chances for adoption.)
If you can't volunteer at the shelter but would like to help us in other
ways, please consider doing one of the following:
Adopting an animal from the Yigo animal shelter.
Sponsoring the Spaying or Neutering of one of the animals at the shelter, it increases their chance for adoption.
Placing a classified ad in the local newspaper advertising a specific "hard to place" animal at the Yigo animal shelter.
Posting pictures of the animals needing adoption on bulletin boards or even your personal webpage.
Writing a pet related article for our newsletter.
Using your computer expertise to help us maintain our new webpage.
Help organize and / or volunteer at G.A.I.N.’s Annual Sterilization Clinic.
Advertising to the public by wearing your very own G.A.I.N. t-shirt!
If you are a landlord, offering rentals to owners of pets. There a variety of ways that you can protect your property while providing housing for homeless animals.
If you're only on Guam for a short period of time, please TAKE YOUR LOYAL COMPANION WITH YOU TO YOUR NEXT DESTINATION.
Be sure that your pets are All spayed or neutered.
In addition, you can help educate and spread the word about the seriousness of pet overpopulation! This is the easiest, yet the most important thing you can do! People still believe they should let their pet have just one litter!
Advertise in the local newspaper the statistics on the number of animals born from just one litter!
Speak about the seriousness of pet overpopulation to members of local community groups, churches, and schools.
Talk with your children about homelessness and pet overpopulation.
Always be kind to animals and lead by example to your family and friends! |
